Dallas (Feb. 13, 2025) — CD Wealth Management has announced two major leadership changes: Scott Cohen has stepped into the role of Executive Chairman, and Ilona Friedman will serve as the company’s Chief Executive Officer.

Cohen, who founded CD Wealth Management in 2014, has served as CEO since its inception, guiding the company’s growth into one of North Texas’ premier wealth management firms, with more than $1.3 billion in assets under management. In his new role, he will dedicate even more time to deepening client relations and shaping the company’s culture.

“We’re making these leadership transitions from a position of strength, with a clear, strategic vision for the future,” Cohen said. “Having built CD Wealth from the ground up, I remain steadfast in advancing our legacy of excellence and client success.”

Known throughout the industry as a confident and trusted advisor who loves working and helping others, Cohen holds a seat on Kestra Financial’s Advisor Council and serves on the Economics Advisory Committee at the University of Texas, his alma mater. He was No. 9 in the Forbes Best-in-State Wealth Advisors rankings for 2024, his fourth consecutive ranking, and he was named to the list of Barron’s Top 1,200 Financial the last three years. He also has been named to AdvisorHub magazine’s list of Advisors to Watch the last three years.

Friedman, a member of the CD Wealth Management leadership team since joining Cohen when he started the firm, most recently served as Chief Wealth Management Officer.

“Ilona’s promotion is both a well-earned celebration of her leadership and a testament to her vision for the company’s future,” Cohen said. “She has exemplified integrity, dedication and a tireless pursuit of excellence in everything she does — qualities that will continue to drive the company forward.”

Friedman sits on Kestra Financial’s Women Empowerment Network Advisory Council, which seeks to empower the success of female financial professionals through a dedicated support network to share strengths, talents and experiences. She also serves as Advisory Council to the Southwest Community Foundation and sits on the Board of Trustees of the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation.
